Shin guards to prevent and relieve shin pain during sports activities (skiing, snowboarding, rollerblading...).

Indications for ski shin guards
Is shin pain hindering your performance during sports sessions? Try EPITACT® ski shin guards!
These tibia protectors prevent and relieve shin splints and pain in the support zones of high-performance boots.
They are therefore highly effective in boots used for board sports (skiing, snowboarding, field hockey, rollerblading, skating, mountaineering...).

How do they work?
The effectiveness of tibial protectors is based on EPITELIUMTACT 03, a shock-absorbing silicone gel designed to reduce friction and pressure on the skin.
Self-adhesive, it ensures optimum hold for the entire duration of the activity. These shin guards are very thin (2 mm), so they don't cause any discomfort and are easily concealed in all types of high shoes.

How to use silicone shin pads
Use shin pads on clean, dry skin.
They can be removed and repositioned without restriction.
Preferably, pull a sock up over them.
After use, place the pads in the storage pouch provided and store in the metal bag until next use.

Contraindications
Do not use silicone shin guards on skin lesions.
For people with diabetes, arteritis, neuropathy of the lower limbs or varicose ulcers: ask your doctor or chiropodist for advice, and monitor your foot during use.

How to care for the protectors
Ski shin guards can be washed by hand (without rubbing) with soap and water. Leave to dry naturally. Discard and replace if gel cracks or fabric deteriorates.

Why do some shoes cause shin pain?
Shin pain often occurs in boots with a rigid outer shell (ski boots, snow boots, rollerblades, skates, etc.). This type of sport requires repeated bending of the knee, which puts a lot of pressure on the shinbone, even more so if the bindings are too tight or the shoe size is too small or too big.

How often can ski shin guards be washed and reused?
Ski shin guards can be washed around thirty times without altering their properties. We recommend that you wash them after each use, to preserve their self-adhesive properties and remove any dust and impurities. By cleaning their surface, you restore their original adhesive properties.

Can they be used for other purposes?
Yes, silicone shin guards can be used, for example, when hiking, to relieve overheating on the shoulders caused by backpack straps.
